Frequently asked questions

How many calories and how much protein are in two eggs?

Select 2 to see both calories and protein for your chosen preparation. The piece weight is the Fineli medium-egg example, not a retail size grade that includes the shell.

How does frying change egg calories?

There are separate entries for boiled eggs, eggs fried without added fat, and eggs fried with fat. They describe average prepared foods, not the same egg measured before and after cooking. The fried-with-fat entry already includes cooking fat.

What about omelettes or egg whites?

Add other omelette ingredients, such as cheese and milk, separately and avoid counting cooking fat twice. For egg whites only, search for egg white in the food calorie calculator; whole-egg values include the yolk.
