How Calotank works

Meals use your daily calories; logged activity adds more. Follow an example day, step by step.

  1. Set your calorie budget

Choose your own daily budget. This example starts with 2,000 calories.

  2. Log a meal

Log a tuna salad at 600 kcal. After saving the meal, 1,400 kcal remains in your daily budget.

  3. Log activity

Enter 400 kcal for the walk. Saving it adds those calories to your budget: 1,400 + 400 = 1,800 kcal. Manual logging is free.

  4. See what is left

You have 1,800 kcal left. The orange part of the tank shows the extra calories from logged activity.

  5. Review the day’s entries

The same list shows the tuna salad at 600 kcal and the walk at +400 kcal. You can edit either entry.

  6. Save flexibility in Flex

Flex is a calorie bank: calories saved from your budget build up as flexibility and cover small overages on other days. The screen shows 1,200 kcal saved. You can use it for a Joker day — a break from logging.

Step 1 / 6

Start for free.

Enter your meal and activity calories yourself. See your remaining daily budget at a glance.

No account or Premium subscription needed for the essentials.

Flex and Joker days are included for free, too

Flex saves a day’s unused calories when you confirm its entries on the following day. Going over your budget reduces your savings. Flex stays separate from the next day’s base budget.

Use your savings for a Joker day: a day without logging meals or activity. The app shows how many calories it costs, and that amount is deducted from your Flex balance.
